I recently bought a Vargo Triad Titanium alcohol stove. This video compares it to my homemade Super Cat. I was very surprised that the Super Cat won the test hands down. Proof that you don’t always need to spend a ton of money to get good gear.
Two Stove Test Demos in one video – the Vargo Titanium Hexagon Wood Stove – as a wood burning stove and as a wind screen for my Vargo Titanium Decagon Alcohol Stove. Great multi-use, multi-purpose companion light-weight gear! The Vargo Titanium Decagon Alcohol Stove video was shot on the shore of Foggy Lake in Gothic Basin. Came up with the idea of using the Vargo Titanium Hexagon Wood Stove as an Ultralight Backpacking Grill. Special thanks to YouTube Friend phr1sk37 for the stainless steel chop sticks idea.
Another idea using the Vargo Titanium Hexagon Wood Stove – this time as a Steam Bake Oven. Special thanks to Alan for the Trangia / BCB Crusader Cooker Pot Stand. See his very fine design on PHARRAOH’s YouTube Channel.
Ultralight Pot Cozy for the Vargo 700 Cooking Pot.
Using a cozy helps keep fuel consumption down. Bring water to a boil, add your food, set in cozy for food to “steep” for 5-10 minutes. Food remains hot, while re-hydrading thus saving on fuel. Folds for easy storage in the pack.
NOTE: DO NOT USE OVER OPEN FLAME ON STOVE!!… More >>
